Planning a wedding can be a daunting experience, and finding the perfect venue that provides a beautiful ceremony location, ample photo opportunities and delicious catering is no easy feat. Here at Harvest Kitchen, we believe we have you sorted for your big day.
We cater for weddings and events for all sizes and budgets. We are an all-inclusive walk-in and walk-out venue situated at Seifried Estate, 168 Redwood Road, Appleby, Nelson.
As the perfect location to hold your ceremony and reception, Harvest Kitchen will ensure your wedding day is stress free and beautiful. We take care of all the guest table set up, catering, beverages and the clean up too. We are delighted to work alongside Got It Covered, who decorate and style all of our weddings and events at Harvest Kitchen. They will tailor the perfect package for your special day.
Harvest Kitchen has its own Classic HQ Holden wedding car available to hire as part of your wedding package.

Our lovely Appleby Room, which is our larger function room which opens up on a grassed area for perfect for drinks, finger food and pre-dinner mingling, It has its own private bar, with Hop Federation beer on tap and a full range of Seifried wines.
This Appleby Room seats up to 160 pax on round tables of 8 pax or trestle tables of 8-10 pax.
The upstairs vines room is our smaller function room which suits a smaller more intimate events, it has its own small bar and balcony overlooking the vines.
The Vines Room seats up to 50 pax on round Tables of 8pax or Trestle tables of 8-10 pax.
The hire for the rooms is from 9am until 12 midnight (later by arrangement). Included in the hire fee is tables, chairs, chair covers, tablecloths, cloth napkins, salt & pepper shakers and water glasses. The room will be set up to your table plan with a choice of white or black linen. If you supply us with place cards or special decorations, we will make sure they are placed on tables.
We work in exclusively with “Got it Covered” who can supply additional decorations and Styling for your day, From Specialty Glassware to Bar leaners, Wooden Chairs, Lounge Suites & Floral centre pieces. You are welcome to decorate your tables with flowers, candles or the likes.
Due to Health & Safety Requirements we do not allow our guests to do any DIY Set up, Hanging of Fairy lights, Chandeliers, Floral Installations, Silk Curtains etc unless they are Booked and Installed Via Got it covered.
The Harvest Kitchen space features restaurant style seating, we can seat 70 inside using the existing timber tables – the lovely garden boasts a kid’s playground and outdoor seating for a more relaxed occasion.
If you wish to have your wedding ceremony here at Harvest on our front lawn, you may do this. Please note any set up or pack down of chairs, arches or decorations is not included in the wedding hire pricing. There will be an extra $300 Fee for set up of this area.
We are happy to arrange you a quote via Got It Covered for any ceremony requirements you may have such as lawn chairs, flowers, archways etc. Or don't hesitate to contact Debra and her team at Got It Covered on 03 544 7564.
Due to running under NZ Food Control Plan we cannot prepare or cook any home kill or seafood fished or hunted by family etc.
We are a fully licensed premise with our own in-house bar. We offer Hop Federation tap beer, a range of bottled beers, Capital Ciders and Seifried Wines plus a full range of spirits and cocktails as well as non-alcoholic options. NO BYO is allowed of any kind.
We will cut and platter your wedding cake free of charge, we can supply a simple cake knife or feel free to bring along your own decorative one. Using your wedding cake as part of your dessert buffet is an excellent way to make sure that your beautiful cake is enjoyed by your guests and is not just an afterthought at the end of the night.
If you wish to enjoy your wedding cake as part of your dinner then we have a plated or buffet option available for a small fee, see below:
For wedding cake plated with Cream/Yogurt & Berry Compote and table served to your guests the cost will be $4.50 per person.
For wedding cake to be cut and served with bowls of Cream & Compote as an addition to the dessert buffet the cost will be $3.00 per person
For your wedding cake to be cut and put out on the dessert buffet there is no charge.
We ask that you do not use any confetti which is not biodegradable, only rice or rose petals may be thrown on our lawns or grounds.
If you wish to have photographs taken amongst the vines or winery areas, you will need to request permission from Seifried Winery before you proceed.
We do charge a soilage fee of $300 for clean-up and carpet cleaning, also a breakage fee if any of our property, furniture or equipment is damaged during the wedding.
Upon confirmation we require a 25% deposit to hold your booking date. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the invoice date. Payment can be made by Direct Debit, Cash or Eftpos.
